Energie Inspectie

This excellent energy company from Leeuwarden uses our software to improve their own services to large Dutch supermarkets, business service providers and clients in the hospitality industry. We’re proud to have this great team as one of our resellers.

Energie Inspectie is an expert in the field of energy sustainability of both the private and corporate market. Many of their clients are subject to legislation concerning the ‘Informatieplicht Energiebesparing’. Energie Inspectie relieves their clients’ burden by filling in the obligatory energy saving measure (EML). Because our software is linked with the e-portal of the RVO, the files can be submitted with the push of one button.

Gemeente Oldambt

This pioneer in sustainability, which is situated alongside the A7 highway to Germany, is often at the forefront of sustainability, contributing to achieving climate-related targets, and energy management!

They were also part of our ‘Smart City Hall Project’ of 2018, in which fifteen municipalities form the region participated in order to make their city halls attain zero energy standards. This project showed potential energy savings of up to €100.000. “Not bad at all”, as we tend to say in Groningen in our distinctly understated manner.

This success gave them a plenty of motivation to move on after the project in an attempt to not only make City Hall attain zero energy standards, but also monitor energy consumption of all other 28 venues of the municipality with our Energy Management System (EMS).

Waarborg Vastgoed

Being one of the most innovative commercial real estate companies in Groninen, Waarborg Vastgoed tends to think outside the box concerning energy management. They aim to base their strategy and choices on accurate and valid data, instead of assumptions. Surely, this has to go hand in hand with innovation, ease of use, and efficiency.

Waarborg Vastgoed monitors the energy consumption of their property portfolio in real time with the dashboard of our EMS.

Outliers in energy consumption can be easily tracked down, so measures can be taken. Checking the annual energy bill takes a lot less hassle now. Also, complying with the legal obligations was easily done by Waarborg with filling in the EML in our software and with the push of a button submitting it to the ePortal of the RVO. And they’re just getting started, these fine ladies and gentlemen of Waarborg!


This gem from Zuid Holland has ambitious plans! By 2020 they want to be the leading population, and environment. This entails that they continually search for new ways of adding value and making a difference.

And every word of it is true. In our view, they’ve added the word employee to their mission statement. It was inspiring for us to work with this team in increasing awareness of employees regarding their energy usage and production within the business.

Our Public Dashboards are now on display at various locations in the offices of Heembouw and give a clear overview of energy consumption and production.

The layout of the Public Dashboards was customized to fit the company’s visual identity and as such became fully Heembouw-proof.

Science LinX

Don’t tell them. Show them.

This is the way Science LinX sets about giving people insight into energy consumption and waste. What we did with this was no standard practice, but it was nevertheless, or actually because of that, very cool.

We’ve developed an Educational Dashboard that shows exactly how much energy your typical home appliances use. In real time, that is. This dashboard is on display at the Energy Academy (part of the University of Groningen) at the Zernike campus in Groningen. It is also available  on site on-demand.

How much energy does your dishwasher, hairdryer or phone charger use? To increase impact, this is shown not only in cubic metres or KwH, but also in euros. Hit it were it hurts.

Fun fact: we also connected an electric car while recharging and a heat pump. These are hot topics in the sustainability debate.  For that reason it’s relevant to measure the exact energy usage, so we can examine if assumption are valid and prediction are accurate. Moreover, it affords us to make the next step in optimalization .

University of Groningen – Nieuwenhuisgebouw

By using Smart Heating Control for this building of the University of Groningen, an energy saving of 16,5% was achieved within a year.  Smart Heating Control entails a fully automated management of heating systems. For this, all 120 rooms were fitted with a sensor and automated control.

We won the 2014 Green Mind Award with this project!

Grunneger Power & Drie Gezusters

De Drie Gezusters is one of the most well-known and iconic bars in Groningen.

Being a major player in the hotel and catering industry of Groningen, they are aware of their significant energy consumption. They know they play an exemplary role and take full responsibility for improving sustainability. They work closely with our partner Grunneger Power that guides and supervises them in the process.

In order to make plans, valid and accurate data about energy consumption are necessary. For that purpose, all buildings of de Drie Gezusters are linked to our software. This allows for real time presentation of actual energy usage. All of the taken energy saving measures were based on gathered accurate and valid data. A great example of Groninger business innovation.

Provincie Groningen

The province as initiator for municipalities. This was the approach taken in the Smart City Hall Project, in which the city halls of fifteen Northern municipalities as well as the provincial government building took part. For this project, gas and electricity consumption was monitered by our software in real time.

Based on the gathered data, our energy advisor estimated a total savings potential of €100.000,-

Gemeente Stadskanaal

Of the thirteen buildings he manages on behalf of the municipality, three of the major energy consumers, including city hall, are wired to our real time monitoring system (EMS Realtime). “The biggest benefits in energy savings were realized here. The remaining 10 buildings are smaller and don’t afford the same energy saving options. In those cases real time is not a must and historical data up to 24 hrs. suffices here (EMS Lite).”

This working method has allowed Ruben to achieve significant energy savings. For example, Ruben noted that heating at night was only reduced for 3 hours. “That way we shouldn’t even bother, as savings are only marginal. From the Dashboard I exported graphs to support my proposal for adjust heating control according to opening hours. This was easily implemented.”
